Some features need you to select an object. Therefore, PRTG shows you the object selector. It enables you to browse all objects in your configuration and select an object in two steps.

Step 1: Browse Device Tree

On the left-hand side, you see a device tree specific to your setup. Click the corresponding objects to browse through the device tree. Click a device to view its sensors on the right-hand side.

You can directly search for objects in the device tree. To do so, enter a probe name, group name, or device name into the Search box above the device tree navigation. You can also use a substring only. PRTG instantly displays the results.

Step 2: Select or Find Object

If you select a device on the left-hand side, you see the sensors on this device on the right-hand side. The respective sensor is shown as well. Hover over a sensor on the right side to view its parent device and group.

You can also directly find sensors if you enter the sensor name, group name, device name, or tag into the Find box above the sensor list.

Select an object and click the OK button.
